Why visibility feels so personal
and that's why not another course will help
I often hear from my clients that they struggle with social media.
They don’t have enough time. It takes too much energy before they even begin.
They have to push themselves to show up. Or suddenly, their creativity disappears.
I know this feeling very well.
In the beginning, I spent far too long working on every single post. I didn’t share many photos because they weren’t perfect enough, and I expected perfection from myself.
But with every post I actually published, my confidence grew.
Each time, it became easier. And I became faster at creating content.
In the beginning, many people worry about the algorithm, going viral, or what other people might think about them.
I wasted a lot of time thinking about these things too. And I invested a lot of money in courses because of it.
Launching while working a full-time job drained me so much that I needed a two-week digital detox afterwards. And those launches weren’t successful either.
The missing piece wasn’t another strategy, more exciting hooks, or adapting even more to the algorithm.
It was more of me.
More of you.
Yes, going viral follows a certain structure you can learn. But the goal isn’t to go viral. The goal is to get the right people to notice you, right?
And for that, you need one essential factor that no AI-generated content can copy:
You.
Your authentic and creative way of writing and sharing your ideas.
And yes, everyone is creative.
Instead of chasing the next strategy, you could simply go for a walk and give your creativity room to move.
There were times when I blocked my own creativity because I only had those four types of content in my head that everyone talked about, and I didn’t know how to connect them with my topics.
Without AI.
We want to see you, your story, and your way of thinking.
That is how you stand out from the growing mountain of AI content.
But the question still remains:
“How do I find the time and energy to become visible?”
In the beginning, it will always require more effort because you have to get used to posting consistently.
You need to establish a habit, just like brushing your teeth.
The good thing is that you can adapt this habit to your life.
You don’t have to start from zero every day.
You can also use AI. Yes, I actually wrote that. AI can be a helpful starting point for analysing your audience and finding new ideas.
As an expert, you know your audience. But we often struggle to put that knowledge into words or communicate it in a way that truly resonates with them.
There is a reason copywriters exist.
3 steps to start and stay consistent
1. Try new things and find what works for you
Not every strategy you find online is bad. I also learned a lot from the courses I bought.
But most of those strategies weren’t created for quiet women like us. And there are endless ways to become visible.
Your job is to find your own way.
For example:
• Developing and publishing one post every day
• Content batching and creating content one week or one month in advance
• Acting on an idea as soon as it appears and publishing it immediately
These are just a few ways to approach your visibility.
Many people swear by content batching. For me, it always felt a little forced.
There are also different content formats and platforms to choose from.
Especially in the beginning, it’s important to focus. Choose one platform where your audience spends time, or simply the platform you enjoy most.
Learn how to show up consistently there before adding more platforms.
2. Establish a habit
You want to spend as little energy as possible overcoming your procrastination.
You can do that by establishing a habit.
In his book Atomic Habits, James Clear explains a simple way to do this.
Choose a habit that is already part of your routine. Breakfast, for example.
Then use that existing habit as a trigger for your new habit: Creating content.
When you repeat this for several weeks, your mind becomes familiar with the process. Eventually, it begins to feel more automatic.
Other triggers can help too.
Putting on your headphones, turning on your laptop, or coming home from a walk can signal to your brain that it’s time to enter a creative state.
3. Prepare in advance
We want content to be published even when you are on holiday or sick.
You shouldn’t have to create everything on demand, even though I still enjoy posting spontaneously too.
Try to prepare at least one week of content in advance.
I like working intuitively and sharing spontaneous ideas within my planned content. Instagram Stories, in particular, live from these moments.
But you still need a certain level of freedom from your schedule so that you don’t have to think about content every single day.
The most important factor
What many people forget while following all these steps is that there is a person behind the content.
You are the energy behind it. You are the one investing the time.
Visibility works when you are aware of your own abilities and energy and when you stop blocking your creativity.
Regardless of what online strategies tell you or how the algorithm currently works.
You create content in a way that reflects who you are, how you like to work, and how you can communicate your message most effectively.
That is what allows you to continue long-term.
No burnout after every launch.
No daily thought of, “Ugh, I still have to post something.”
The most important question you need to ask yourself today is:
Why does visibility feel so difficult?
Then ask yourself a few more times: Why? Why? Why?
And then begin!
You don’t have to figure this out alone
Sometimes the problem isn’t that you don’t know what to post.
You might already have enough ideas, strategies, and saved content tips.
But something still stops you from fully showing up.
The fear of being judged by people you don’t even like.
The belief that you’re not good enough yet
The pressure to be someone else
These patterns don’t disappear through another content plan.
They change when you understand what is happening underneath them and start building visibility from a stronger relationship with yourself.
This is what we work on inside Quiet Expansion Space, my individual mentoring for thoughtful, ambitious women who want to grow without losing themselves in the process.
Together, we look at the limiting beliefs that keep you small, strengthen your confidence, and create a way of becoming visible that feels natural to you.
Not a louder version of you.
A clearer and more confident one.
We work on what you need, which can include:
• understanding and changing the beliefs behind your fear of visibility
• building confidence in your voice, expertise, and message
• finding a sustainable way to create and share content
• becoming more comfortable being seen, selling, and taking up space
• growing your business without constantly overriding your energy
Because visibility becomes much easier when you stop fighting yourself every time you want to share something.
